How to delete/remove headers from Outlook Inbox for messages that already

If you choose the delete option on the header and poll your mailbox the item
should go away

This doesn't work for me. I'm using GMail's POP server and I keep getting the
error
Task "'gmail - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210C) : 'Some messages you
marked for download are no longer available on the server.'" I've been using
GMail through Outlook more-or-less successfully for some time, and I have it
configured on GMail to enable POP access for all mail. I mark the headers for
deletion, process headers, get this message, and the headers remain in my
inbox. Dragging them to the "Deleted Items" folder does nothing. I'd just
like to get rid of them on my PC.
