Hi,
I am zishan.. I would like to know how to disable a task with out
deleting from the schedule so that if i feel to use it later i can use it...
Disabling should disable all the dependencies assoicated with the task too.

Thanks
Zishan

There is no such function in Project. You'll have to delete it and add it
back later, if necessary.
Hope this helps in your world.

Hi zishan,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You can't really do this. I suggest you save a copy of your file in case
it's needed later, and just delete your task from your working file.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

I would "cancel" the task by setting its Remaining Work to 0 hours. You can
do this by applying a Task view, such as the Gantt Chart view, and then
applying the Work table using View - Table - Work. You will see the
Remaining Work column in this table. When you set the Remaining Work to 0
hours, the task's Gantt bar will convert into a Milestone symbol (black
diamond). If you double-click on the diamond, you can the Shape and Color
to something other than a black diamond, knowing that the new symbol
represents cancelled tasks. You should also add a Note on any cancelled
task stating the reason for doing so. You DO NOT need to break the
dependencies since the task now has a Duration of 0 days and the task
sequence now flows directly from the cancelled task's Predecessor to the
cancelled task's Successor. Hope this helps.
