How to Disable Excel 2000 Virus Scan?

Is there any way to disable this? I've selected Low Security for the Macros
but the bugger is still scanning. Very annoying. Please advise.

TIA

Thanks for the tip but I don't see how to do that with AVG. I tried
excluding the XL* extension from the scanner and disabling the Resident
Shield. Neither worked. Whats happening is that Excel is Requesting a
Virus Scan. I need to stop it from doing that. I don't know if AVG is
responding to the request or not but it seems logical to me that I must
first disable the Request.

Instructions are on AVG's website. Use Windows Explorer or My Computer
to search your hard drive for the avgoff2k.dll file, which is AVG's
Office Plugin, and note the folder where it is located. Disable the
Office Plugin by clicking on Start | Run, and in the Open box, type:

regsvr32.exe /u c:\path\avgoff2k.dll

except replace "c:\path" with the actual path to your avgoff2k.dll file.

Thanks...I found it in Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7....however, when I entered
the path as you show it I get an error that the specified module could not
be found. Guess I'll go to their website.
