How to disable "recover deleted items" option

Is there any way, maybe a registry hack that disables
the "recover deleted items" option when you have
the "Deleted Items" box highlighted in Outlook 2000?

Hmmm - I'm sure there is, but may I ask why? You surely don't want to have
to do full Exchange restores to a recovery server every time someone
permenantly deletes something they didn't mean to?

Ah - there's probably some way to disable the button, but I don't know it.

You may want to look into message journaling on the server.

Frank,

You can disable the "Recover Deleted Items" menu command via system policy.
To disable any menu item via policy you need to know the command bar ID. The
command bar ID for "Recover Deleted Items" is 5654.

Please let me know if you have any questions about setting up this policy.

Thanks,
