How to display costs by resource group on Recapitulative tasks

Hi,

My software development project has five main recapitulative tasks. I need
to know for each one of them what is the cost by resource group.

When I use the task usage display (adding the cost and resource group
column) and filter using a group, the cost displayed on the recap tasks are
still total costs.

Hello,

Instead of filtering, apply a group to the Task Usage view. Group
first by ID or Name, then by Resource Group. Grouping summarizes
data from fields visible in the table.

If I do so, I have a list of all my tasks and for every task the cost for
each resource group.
But there is no task hierarchy, they are all there (thousands), ordered by
name and it's useless since I only need the five main recapitulative tasks.

Is there a way to keep the task hierarchy ?

What is a "recapitulative task"?

Try grouping by Outline Number then Resource Group (Assignment
field). The show only level 2 -- that should collapse up to summary
level tasks and each group should be represented once.
