How to do baseline lockdown

G

Gerry (H.K.)

Hi,

I saw a web page stated one of Enterprise-ready feature in Project Server
2007 is Baseline Lockdown. However, I cannot find any corresponding UI in
PWA. Does anyone knows how to do that? Thanks in advance.

I am assuming that you want to prevent your PM's from saving a Baseline, and
instead, someone in your organization (such as a PMO) will be responsible
for saving a Baseline in each project. If this is the case, you will want
to do the following to allow the PMO to save the Baseline in each project:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions.
2. Click Server Settings - Manage Groups.
3. Click the name of the Portfolio Managers group.
4. Add your PMO team members to the group.
5. In the Categories section, select the My Organization category.
6. In the Permissions grid in the Categories section, set the Save
Protected Baseline permission to Allow.
7. Expand the Global Permissions grid.
8. In the Project section, set the Save Unprotected Baseline permission to
Allow.
9. Click the Save button.

Next, you will need to prevent project managers from saving a Baseline in
any of their projects by completing the following steps:

1. Click Server Settings - Manage Groups.
2. Click the name of the ProjectManagers group.
3. In the Categories section, select the My Projects category.
4. In the Permissions grid in the Categories section, set the Save
Protected Baseline permission to Not Allowed (neither Allow or Deny is
selected - DO NOT set the permission to Deny!).
5. Expand the Global Permissions grid.
6. In the Project section, set the Save Unprotected Baseline permission to
Not Allowed (neither Allow or Deny is selected).
7. Click the Save button.

Hope this helps.
