How to do page nos. in Word doc referring to other text which might change location?

Let's say I am creating a document with Word and there is a sentence
like "see such-and-such on page [whatever]," referring to some
specific text on another page. How can you link to that text on the
other page so that if you add more copy later which causes the text on
the other page to change from page 10 to page 12, for example, then
the page number represented by [whatever] will automatically be
updated? Is this possible?

Put a bookmark with the text.

Insert/Bookmark/Name

then where you refer to the text put in a cross reference

eg see page Insert/Reference/Cross Reference and select bookmarks ,
page number and then the bookmark name.

From the help - "update references"

Update captions or cross-references after making changes
Do one of the following:
To update a specific caption or cross-reference, select it.

To update all captions or cross-references, select the entire document.
Right-click the selection, and then click Update Field on the shortcut menu.

Or, I think this works: F9 - Update entire table
