How to do this?

Hi:

I am using Project 2000. I can save project data to SQL server through ODBC connection. But recently I saw a demo, they can open a MS Project file by clicking a link on a web page. Then add a few tasks and click on SAVE button. The tasks are saved to server through Internet! I wonder how to do this. Is the higher version of Project that can save data through Internet or I need something else to achieve it?

Thanks,

You most likely saw a demonstration of Project Server. In that case you need Project Server 2007 and Project Professional 2007. People who only view schedules need a Client Access License (CAL) instead of Project.

Having said that, for just one or two people you may be better served looking at some of the 3rd party tools available, or just saving .mpp files using SharePoint. If you are part of a large company, then Project Server has much going for it, but getting added value involves people, process and tools, not just installing the server!
