how to download Excel

Hello. I have a computer running Excel 97. It suddenly stopped working.
The Excel splash screen comes up and displays the product ID, but then
freezes. Unfortunately, it's an OEM product so I don't have the CD to
reinstall it. Since I have the product ID to prove I purchased it
legally, is there a website where I can download it for free to
reinstall it? I know this isn't technically an Excel question, but the
Office97 newsgroup only gets about 2 posts per year, so I thought I
might have better luck here. Also, I'd appreciate it if you could reply
to [email protected] as well as this newsgroup, so I'll be sure to
see it.

Since your version is an OEM installation, replacement is between yourself and
your retailer.

There is no site from which you can download Excel or Office applications.

Perhaps you can take advantage of MS's free trial offer for Office 2003 suite.
