how to download SP3

A download of Office SP3 would take 196 mins on my computer. My URL limits
time on line to 120mins and then disconnects. I have tried twice and after
two hours been disconnected. What can one do?

Take a look at the OfficeUpdate website; there's a link there where
you can request that Microsoft mail you a CD. I don't recall if
there's a fee, but if there is it's quite modest (cheaper than three
hours of phone time probably)!

Thank you for the CD suggestion. If only! I tried the link and filled in my
details eagerly onlt to reach the last line of address which is limited to
USA. If I lived in Alhabama I would be acceptable, but not so UK apparently;
unless you know differently?

Hmmm... browsing around...

Try http://www.microsoft.com/uk/office/prodinfo/default.mspx

and see if you can get either a link to a UK site that can provide
that service, or at least an email contact. Not being in the UK and
having US localization on my Office Update page, I can't really test
it - but I'm sure that they've got some way for you to get the CD.

Thank you John for your reply; I'll try Google again for a CD supplier. I am
wary of any non MS official site however. It is amazing that MS is so
parochial in its services especially as SP3 is needed to put right errors or
ommisions in their product.
It seems like a case of 'look after our American Brothers & sisters - the
world can look after itself- but keep buying our products'

....huh??

I posted the UK site provided by Microsoft Corporation. They're fully
internationalized; there are Microsoft organizations in the UK, all
over the world in fact.

If you got the impression this was a "non MS site" please look again.

I am grateful to you for attempting to solve my problem about obtaining a CD
of SP3. Alas I have not found a source serving UK and am feeling very
vulnerable without the upgrades. Do you know if I could achieve a download
through working in stages. I assume that SP3 means there were stages SP1 and
2 previously. Assuming these are smaller files do you know of the download
time would be less. I also assume that the earlier ones are still available

I think I did not make myself clear when I referred to sites found through
google that offer MS products (+SP3). There are lots that are clearly not
owned by MS. I am still looking for a CD of SP3 to no avail. My next plan
is to persuade my Son -in-law to download via broadband to CD via his
computer. Do you think that would work?
