How to edit space between letters

I have about 500 powerpoint slideshows made on legacy office, primary office
2000. All my text use Arial Rounded MT Bold size 24. All my placeholders
have been adjusted to fit my text. When I open them in powerpoint 2003, the
font and size is recognized, but the text does not fit inside the placeholder
any more. It's like the space between some letters have increased, and make
extra lines in the slide. I know how to auto ajust text in the placeholder,
but I don't want to. I want all my text in the same font and size. Anyone
have any clue on how I can adjust the spaces between letters back to "office
2000 style" ? It will take me weeks to reformat all my slides. And we are
more users at my work with exztly the same problem.
