How to Excel automatically turning email addresses into hyperlinks. When I
enter [email protected], I want it to stay regular text, and not get turned into a
hyperlink.

Try this

In 2002/2003 you can turn it of

Tools > Options > Spelling
Press "AutoCorrect Options" Button
AutoFormat As You Type Tab
Remove Check from "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks"
OK
OK

In older versions you can do this :

Or after you have fill in a address and Enter to confirm you
can use Ctrl-Z to make it text.

Or start the cell with a '
Excel see it as text then

depending on your version goto 'Tools - autocorrection' and in the
middle tab disable this feature
