If you have recently migrated to Microsoft 365 and want to keep a local copy of your Outlook data, you can export your mailbox from Outlook to a PST file. A PST file allows you to store emails, contacts, calendars, tasks, and other mailbox items on your computer.

To export your data, open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export. Select Export to a File, choose Outlook Data File (.pst), select the mailbox or folders you want to export, and save the PST file to your preferred location.

In some cases, users may only have an OST file after migration. Since OST files are linked to specific Outlook profiles and accounts, they cannot always be opened directly, especially if the Microsoft 365 account has been removed or reconfigured. In such situations, an OST to PST conversion tool can help extract mailbox data and save it as a PST file for easy access.

Exporting your data after a Microsoft 365 migration is a good practice for creating backups, archiving old emails, or transferring mailbox data to another system when needed.
