How to filter text lists ?

I'm wondering what group to best post this in... If there's a better group,
please let me know.

Here's my question.

Newreaders use a file (group.lst) that contains all available usenet groups.
The file is a text type file and is at least 36,000 lines long. I'd like to
be able to go thorough it and delete all potentially "offensive" listings,
so that the newsreader program will not display these "questionable" groups.

Obviously, manually editing 36k lines is not practical, especially as this
is a document that changes. What would be the best way to delete specific
listings ? As an example, I've listed several groups down below (a small
sampling) that I would like to edit out of the group.lst file.

What I'm thinking is to create some sort of "filter list" that contains key
words, which if found in any line, the entire line would be deleted. So
erotica, bondage, porn, etc... would all be added to this filter list, and
when the filter list is applied against the group.lst file, all offensive
material would be removed. After all.. Is anybody *really* interested in
alt.binaries.erotica.senior-citizens ?

Any ideas on how best to accomplish this ? I'm thinking Word or Excel could
be used, but maybe some sort of script file could also be made.

***Sample***
alt.binaries.erotica.blondes 462
alt.binaries.erotica.bondage 206
alt.binaries.erotica.pictures.redheads 1058
alt.binaries.erotica.pornstar 1038
alt.binaries.erotica.pornstars.80s 4141
alt.binaries.erotica.pregnant 982
alt.binaries.erotica.redheads 1105
alt.binaries.erotica.senior-citizens 207
