How to find old emails after reinstalling outlook/office

I re-installed office trying to fix some problems. After reinstalling, and
then after re-adding email accounts into outlook, I can't find the emails
that were in outlook before.

How can I recover those?

Depends on your mail account type. If you stored your mail in a pst-file you
can use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

I don't remember seeing anything regarding pst files. How can I tell if I
have a pst file or not?

Search your hard disk for pst-files.
With POP3 you are very likely to have used one.

After some searches and a bit of clicking around in outlook menus, the
hidden folders have now been found. Thanks for your assistance!
