How to find the open dialog (file menu)?

Dear Sir and Madam
Recently I had a problem with Microsoft Excel. The error show
on screen is " The document is corrupt and cannot be open. To try and repair
it, use the open and repair command in the Open dialog(File menu) and select
Extract Data when prompted"

Could you have free time to show me the way to fix this
problem, thanks and waiting your answer
