How to fix fuzzy icons on Office 2003 toolbars

The icons on Office 2003 toolbars are fuzzy. How do I get them to be crisp
like there were in Office 2000? I can't seem to find any settings in Office
or in Control Panel that make a difference.

Monitor Dell Ultrasharp at 1280 x 1024 with 48 Mb video ram on system unit
video board.
