How to fix position of headings?

D

Dee

Hello

I need to create a document with its headings fixed in certain places so
that the headings do not go up or down when I enter sentences. I have already
tried creating a table with headings inside in the first cell of each row.
This works, but it would be nice to know other easier ways of fixing the
position of headings. Any useful comments would be appreciated.

One way to "fix" the location of a heading is to include a page break
with it; the heading will then always be at the beginning of a page. Of
course, it will still move as (large amounts of) text is added or
deleted, but only to the top of a different page.

To include a page break with a particular heading, check the "Page break
before" option in Format | Paragraph, Line and Page Breaks tab. This
formatting can be added to a style, if you want to; see
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/styles/ModifyAStyle.html.
