How to get 1st folder to display when opening in XP

When I have a lot of folders and files in excel/word, the open display window
for drilling down to folder/file always shows the last files and I have to
always, always scroll back to the left to see the first Folder. It is
annoying. Is there a setting in XP to change the order of files displayed in
the open window?

Set the order, then hold the CTRL key down while you close the dialog
box by clicking the "X".

Are you using Office 97? If so then unfortunately I believe the "setting"
you are looking for is "upgrade". :-(

I believe they changed the behavior to selecting/showing the first folder
instead of selecting the first file in the dialog box in Office XP.
