How to get a table in column view

When I click create I get a list of fields side by side. I tried various
things, including office online, to get the table to column view.

Can someboy help?

When you click the "New" button to create a new table you are given some
choices. The first two are "Datasheet View" and "Design View". You want
"Design View".

The fact that MS decided to make datasheet view the default is just another area
that shows that they really have no idea how to use Access properly at all.

When I open access 2007 I get an intro. Do I want to open current daabases,
download, templates, etc. One is ceting a new dtabase. I select that and I
get the sideby side view for the fields. I see no options.
