How to Get a value of Second last record

Generally to get the value of last record of same field on continious Form,
we use Cntl' , But what to do to get the value of second last fields Or Third
last field of same field.

Please also advise accordingly, if the field is Text what to do, If it is
Numeric then what to do and if it is date field then what to do.
