How to get page #'s to be in order regardless of section breaks

I have a document, that has section breaks because I've needed to change
format from one column to two, then back to one and my page numbers don't
respond correctly. How do you force Word to number the pages in order
despite the section breaks? I don't really want to have to stick the pages
in the type writer.

You have to be careful about NOT restarting numbering from new section.
I've had to "fix" a few documents where the numbering was restarted that
way as it passed from one user to another.
