How to get rid of a line?

A

Anna R.

If I type a few underscores Word converts into a line. That's fine, but what if I want to delete it later? I've tried all possible ways, the line just keeps moving up and down and wouldn't go away. I'm using Word '97, by the way.

Any ideas?

Format, Borders and Shading, click the Borders TAB and click "None". What
it is is a bottom border for your paragraph.

Do the Word MVPs have a pool going to see how many times I get a chance to
provide this assistance before I remember that there is a FAQ on it? HA! I
tell ya, there is nothing worse than a PowerPoint MVP "newbie" crossing the
picket line! HA!

Sorry, Bill, I really shouldn't duplicate others' efforts, especially when
their responses are perfectly satisfactory. There's something about that one
particular question that always impels me to. <g>

Yeah, it's me always forgetting about the FAQ! HA! I don't mind it a bit.
Actually, it keeps me thinking about the FAQ and not just my own words!
Keep after me! I'll come around eventually!
