how to get rid of small blank document outside the left margin of

There is small blank document outside of new document margin. As the
document is typed, typing shows up on small document. How do I get rid of
it??? I assume I have placed it there with tool bar commands or really I
don't know....Can anybody help? Thanks

What you call a "small blank document" is probably a text box, which has
been saved by mistake into the Normal.dot template. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm for how to fix it.

This is a Thumbnail view of your document. It is toggled under the View
menu. It lets you navigate more easily in your document and have an overview
of the context in which you are typing. (It is a new feature, I think
started with Word 2003.)
