How to get rid off ctfmon.exe service?

Bob, I am sorry I missed your post.
Yes, thanks to you I finally get rid off that file.
It was just enough to follow these steps involving Control Panel settings
and removing from the start up menu.
You are absolutely right that the delay I am having is a combination of
ctfmon interracting with another software just I do not have enough time to
trace what software it is.
I had exactly the same problem (delay) last year when using XP Home edition
with SP2 , IE6 and OfficeXP.
After removing that ctfmon file the delay was gone.
Now, I built new computer, installed XP PRO/SP2, IE 7 and Office 2007. Just
2 weeks ago.
And the first thing I've noticed was that delay (2-3 secs) on performing any
operation in Windows.
It has nothing to do with my programming.
Maybe I am just too sensitive?
Maybe everyone else has the same delay but it does not have a clue that
computer can perform better?
Maybe.
Thanks,
Jack

I am almost....almost positive that this DAMNED thing was pushed out to all
Office users in the wonderful package of the SP3 (service pack) "UPDATES".
I'm running Windows XP with Office 2002 & the lovely SP3. I started having
problem the SECOND it was pushed out. I was on the phone with Microsoft for
BELIEVE IT OR NOT?????? 36 hours straight..I wouldn't let them hang up.
They finally got it fixed but it has, excuse the pun, wormed it's way back
into my PC and Microsoft doesn't help you at all. I think I'm gonna CAN my
PC and go by me a MAC!!! More problems now than I know what to do with!!
That's why I at the site! Have a good one!

A solution to kill ctfmon.exe process :

Use the windows standard menus :

1.Go to Windows Parameters Panel
2.Choose Linguistic & Regional Options
3.Select Langages sheet
4.Click on Details Button
5. Select Advanced sheet
6. Check the checkbox "Stop services"
7. Apply

....Exit ctfmon.exe ...

Make the same to activate it again ...
