How to get set margins in Word and save for every document?

I set my margins for Word in XP and clicked on the default button. But the
settings didn't save. Anyone has any suggestions how to save my margins?

Is Adobe Acrobat 7.0 installed on the computer? If yes, then the
Acrobat 7.0 Create Adobe PDF toolbar add-in for Word prevents
Word from automatically saving changes to the normal.dot template
(which is where the default margin settings are stored). See

solutions to the problem.
