how to get specific slide master sets to apply to specific slides?

Can one of you experienced users help me with this? I've used many means of
searching for the answer and so far I haven't come up with it yet.

I have created 2 sets of slide masters, and I have a 20 slide presentation.
I want to apply the first set of slide masters to the first 10 slides.
And then I want to apply the second set of slide masters to the last 10
slides.
But all slides show the design of my first set of master slides. They last
10 slides are ignoring my second set of master slides' instructions.

How can I get the last 10 slides to connect to the second set of master
slides and change their looks accordingly? Where do I go? What buttons do I
push? Where do I click?

Looking forward to hearing from you. I will be greatful for your help!

First, select the slides (hightlight the thumbnails, you can press ctrl key
on your keyboard to select multple slides) that you want to have different
design.

Click Format > Slide Design. Then, under Apply a design template, hover over
the one that you want to apply. A drop down arrow will appear.
Click on it and select "Apply to selected slides".

See if it helps.
