Thanks, I'm glad you liked the idea.

A long time ago I worked out macros to re-open individual Word files
automatically after they had been closed, and even to do so after Word
had been closed and re-opened. Then getting into arrays this week, I
saw the possibility of doing the same with a group of documents. But
Helmut's version goes beyond that in no longer needing an array, and in
being able to re-open the group of documents even after Word has been
closed and re-opened. So this is a useful thing.

I don't understand much of the code of Helmut's macros but I will look
up the unfamiliar statements.
