How to get the paragraph number?

Hi,
I'm trying to get the number of the paragraph my selection is in.
Example
1 heading on level 1
selected text: macro should return 1
1.1 heading on level 2
selected text: macro should return 1.1

I've looked already quite intensively into help files and the internet. My
current assumption is that word doesn't provide this kind of information.
But hopefully I'm wrong and someone could tell me how to get this
information.
