Can anyone tell me how to give a new title to a slide in a PPT presentation?

when you insert a new slide (Insert > New slide), two placeholder text boxes
should appear. One which reads click to add title. Just click in that box and
start typing.

Many thanks for the tip, but the problem I have is that I want to change the
titles on slides that are already in the presentation. Do you know how I can
do that?

Just type over the existing text.
