how to have the "list" choice the default selection under "view"

I would like to have the list view of my folders the default choice each time
I go into a folder. Unfortunately, I have to select list, each time so that
it is easier to view the contents in the folder.

It comes from the default operating system folder view. Change it and
your wish is granted.
