How to identify a Groove account in an Active Directory

Groove Accounts can be based on Active Directory (AD) users: Groove Manager
can import user data from an AD. Is it possible to relate the account
information available through the Groove SDK (or the Groove Helpers) back to
an AD user?

As far as I know the only thing available are the name and URI of the
account. The URI is something private to Groove, it is unknown in the AD. The
name could exists multiple times in the AD. If Organizational Units (OUs) in
AD are mapped to domains and groups in Groove Manager, it could be possible
to uniquely identify a user (account) if its domain and group membership is
known. But this information also seems unavailable by means of the Groove
SDK.

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Frans

Hi Frans,

Out of the box, what you are asking for is not available. However, maybe
with some coding using the SDK or Groove Helpers, it might be done, but I am
not a developer so I could not advise on that.

Hi Gregg,

Some coding is exactly what I intended to do. My goal is to create an
automatic process. But when I look at the raw data that are available there
seems to be nothing which enables me to relate back to the Active Directory,
or even to the Groove Manager user repository. I believe that if only domain
and group membership were known this could be sufficient.

Frans
