How to idetify the name of a shapeor object or text box on a crowded slide

I have presentations where the slides are very complex as there are
very many objects and text boxes and pictures which are appearing,
dissappearing and used as triggers for various things. How can i get
the names of these items so that i may know what to change without
placing them into the custom animation panel to identify esp because
numbering these objects are random by the program
