How to import a hyperlink into Access

I have an existing Excel spreadsheet which has hyperlinks to files on the
network. If I attempt to import these they no longer work. I can type them
in and they work fine. What am I doing wrong? Are there any tricks here?
It seems like a pretty straightforward process.

There are several potential questions / issues combined there.

But here's a thought to start with.....are you using / putting it into a
field which is a hyperlink field type?
