Title is self-contradictory. Text files have no formatting.

You can (in Word) save the file as HTML.. It will still have some formatting
to make it editable in Word and this really needs to be removed.. This is
an old tool but still works in XP (I use it myself) and should solve the
problem...

Warning: when you save as HTML you might notice "some" changes in the
formatting of the page due to inherent nature of HTML

For myself, I just copy and paste, but this throws formatting out the window.

Have you tried save as html in word, then open the file in Frontpage?

Be aware that the Word HTML files leave a lot to be desired and it is better if
you start from scratch in Frontpage.

If this is just a document, you only need to import the file and it will
remain a Word document. If you are trying to create a web page in Word,
stop. You can copy and paste the text into Notepad, then copy and paste it
again into FrontPage, but you'll have to reformat it. I've never tried the
tool posted in the other reply, but I've also never tried to convert a Word
file into a web page either. It's easier for me to start with just the text
and format it in FP.

The easy way: In Windows Explorer, open up the folder that contains the Word
file, and then drag the file onto an open page in FP. You will keep all your
formatting. It works fine. I have been doing it for six years now without
ever a problem.
