How to incorporate several templates into single plan

We would like to set up templates encompassing all tasks
within a larger activity, for the purpose of capturing the
defined, routine activities that are included in many of
the projects that we do. As an example, we'd like to
define the known tasks, dependencies, and resources that
are involved with a "Server Build" (i.e. purchase
equipment, install components, load O/S, etc).

My question is how we can best incorporate several to many
of these activities within a single project plan. I've had
success opening several "activity" projects that we are
interested in incorporating, then using the Window/New
Window function to draw all files into a single project
plan, but wanted to know if there are other options. For
example, there is an Insert Project function, but I can
insert only local files. My goal is to have some control
over *where* within the Project schedule I can insert the
various activities.

Any thoughts?
