how to input 092904 and display in the cell like a date 09/29/04

can't remember if there is an easy way to input a number string in 6 digits
and have it automatically add the slashes?

I you want to display it as dates (any date form) select that cell, click on
Format and choose Cells. In Format Cells you select the Number Tab and
click on Date, and there you select how you want to display the dates. You
can also do all other formatting in Format Cells.
