How to install DAO?

J

Janis

I'm using a borrowed computer to write a quick program. I notice ADO is
referenced not DAO. I cannot find it in the reference list. It is Microsoft
Access 2002. There is no CD can I get it from a web site?I'm writing some
output to Excel so I think DAO is what I need. ADO cause some problems. I'm
trying to debug it and I want to install DAO to see if that solves it.

You shouldn't need to install DAO as that is what the Jet engine uses so I'm
not sure why it wouldn't be in the list unless it is already checked and you
just missed seeing it. But, if it isn't checked and it isn't in the list
then I would think that Office would need to be uninstalled and reinstalled
to make sure it is there.

You can also check to see if your MDAC is up-to-date and, depending on the
Windows version, you can go to the downloads and install or use
Windows/Microsoft Update to let it install any missing updates.

It should be installed.

You're looking for Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library.
