How to install FP2000 on Vista Ultimate?

K

Kerry

New PC with a clean install of original Vista Ultimate.

What I've done in the past is to insert the FP2003 upgrade CD and insert its
product key. Install will then ask for the original FP2000 CD which I then
insert. It accepts it and then I reinsert the FP2003 CD and the install
continues.

Today is the first time I've tried to install 2003 on a spanking clean
install of an original Vista Ultimate. Other times, my old PC has been
upgraded from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate and so remnants of FP2003 had
apparently been on it which facilitates FP installs (I'm assuming).

Today I inserted the FP2003 update CD and its product key and it looked like
the install was taking place except it hung on the progress install bar. It
did not ask for the original.

I opted to stop the install and inserted the FP2000 CD (the original),
entered the product key but got, "another install is taking place wait."
There was no sign of any thing running in Task Manager.

I rebooted and tried again but FP2000 hung on the progress bar.

Suggestions please?

Thanks,

Kerry
Vista Ultimate 32-bit
The only other MS Office product installed is MS Word97 which works fine.
Vista upgrades is on automatic and current.

P.S. Both copies of Vista, the upgrade and the original, are registered and
have their own product keys.
