how to install frontpage 2003 on windows millennium

I am having trouble getting Frontpage 2003 update to install on a fully
updated Windows ME OS. I have run the automatic update and it reports that I
don't need any Critical or Service Pack updates. When I insert the FP CD it
displays a message saying I need a newer version of Windows to install FP
2003. I did put the CD in once before I did all of the updates, so I don't
know if that needs to be cleared or what??? Any help would be appreciated.

FP2003 requires Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Home or Pro, see the box for requirements.

it displays a message saying I need a newer version of Windows to install
FP 2003.

And that message leads you to believe that you can continue with the version
you have because... why, exactly ?????

The front of the MS FP2003 upgrade box says, "Requires Windows 2000 or
Windows XP. The back of the box has in red font, "MS Windows 2000 with Svc
Pack 3 ( I downloaded all of the critical and service pack updates) or later
or MS Windows XP or later operating system."

I believe your answer, however the box is incorrect.

FP 2003 requires Windows 2000 or XP. It will not run on ME. It says so on the
box.

The world is not round, you can't get there from ME. You need to start with 2K or XP.

Ok, I will install it on my XP machine. The ME machine gets used less, so it
would be easier for web development time.

Thank you to all who replied!!!

Windows 2000 is NOT Windows Millennium.

Sounds like you have Windows ME not Windows 2000

It only runs on Windows 2000 and upwards - Read the packaging! The system
requirements are very plain.

ME is not the same as Windows 2000. That could be the confusion because the
name Millenium Edition can be confused with actual millenium years (ie:
2000). WIndows ME is in the same family is Windows 95 and 98. Windows 2000
is a completely different architecture and is a based on Windows NT. Windows
XP is a newer version of Windows 2000 with a number of visual and subsystem
enhancements.

Hope this helps,
