How to invert white print to black print in a logo

Project: Flyer
Using existing church logo, white image in black background with white
letters around the image.
Would like to make letters black and elimate the black background.

Can it be done in word 2003?

Directly - No, Word is not a graphics editor.

Depending on the type of graphic file you may be able to rt-click & use Edit
Picture or copy it to MS Paint,edit it then reinsert it into the doc.

FWW, my personal choice would be to use a graphics editing program (such as
Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Illustrator, etc.) to revise the image & save
a new copy of the file, then insert that into the doc.
