How to link a page in visio to Powerpoint?

So I have a powerpoint presentation, and say I have 3 topics, each
topic has an accompanying drawing in Visio. What I like to do is to
launch everything from powerpoint, double click, then I can edit the
corresponding drawing (a specific page/tab).

My current way of doing this is to draw everything in Visio, then cut-
paste into a slide in PP. But then I have to edit in 2 places, or
they are out of sync. I searched this group and found something
dated back in 2005. Certainly there is a better way by now? I'm
using Office 2007..

Thanks in advance.

I have one recommendation, but I am not sure what was listed already in this
group.

If your files are all on your harddrive, go to the page/slide in PPnt you
want to have the link; choose Insert, Object, check the box "Create from
file", click the browse button to find the file on your harddrive. Select
the file, and make sure that the boxes "Link" and "Use Icon" are selected
(you can change the icon appearance), and click okay.

This will create a linked icon in your presentation that will allow you to
launch the Visio file and the drawing. The only caution: if you change the
file name on your harddrive for the Visio drawing, you have to ensure that
the name of the link in your PowerPoint presentation is modified to find the
updated link.

Hope this helps.
