How to lock a column in MS Project 2003?

Example: Duration column should be locked and it shoul dnot be editable. May
be it can be editable through a password, like how we do it in Excel.

Why are trying to do that?

If some PM is trying to trick you you could try tricking them with a
user-defined field or some other duration column and call it Duration. They
will probably never figure it out.

David: What you are saying is a brilliant idea. At the same time, i need to
know whether we can create macro to lock a column? If it is possible, then
can you help me in creating one?

Which column are you trying to lock? You can put a macro in place to trap
changes using events, but those can be worked around. If someone has write
access to the file, they can not be prevented from making changes to it.

The best solution is to compare against a known good copy of the file and
note any changes.

If you can't trust your project managers, then why did you hire them?
