How to make hyperlinks active in OL-2003

I am using OL-2003. I have spent many unsuccessful minutes to hours trying to
get the hyperlinks (both to IE pages and e-mail addresses) to activate. I
searched other threads and no success yet. Can anyone help?

When I type the link to a site (www.neirealty.com) or any e-mail address, and
put a space after the last character the text turns blue and gets
underscored.

To verify that the potential recipiant will be able to launch the hyperlink,
before I send, I roll cursor over the link or address and click it. I expect
the link to open the site or launck an e-mail template. But, nothing happens.
That suggests to me that the hyperlink that I create is not active.

I don't want the receiver to have to go thru the challenge of trying to
figure it out. I think the challenge is on my side rather than theirs.

Hmm.

Yes, I have Word as the edititor. When you go to a hypertext link, you
shouldn't have to use the ctrl+click. You typically simply click the
hypertext and are linked to the page.

Sure, in a web browser, but Word's not a web browser.

I don't understand your point? Do you know the solution?

As the author, you can use CTRL + CLICK to VERIFY that your link is
working before you send the e-mail. The e-mail recipient only needs
to CLICK on the link, as you expect, to see the linked page. Make
sense?
