How to make music play continuously during slide show

P

PJ

How do I set things up so the slide show plays without doing it manually and
at the same time plays a music file without interruption during the slide
show?

1. Insert sounds from file, in custom animation double click media and in
effects set "stop playing after x slides" (where x = number of slides)

2. In slide show > slide transition tick automatically after 10 seconds (or
whatever time you need)

I know this sounds like a really dumb question but where do you find "media
and effects"? I have looked everywhere I can possibly think of and clicked

You will find "Movies and sounds" in "Insert" Menu. Further, you will see
"Movie from clip organizer", "Movie from file", "Sound from file" etc
options. Click on "Sound from file" here. Here onwards, follow what John has
written.

Hi PJ,

the only dumb questions are those that are not asked :)
In the Slide Show menu, click on Custom Animation...
That will bring up a task pane on the right of your screen titled Custom
Animation. After you have inserted a sound (Insert menu, Movies and sound,
Sound from file) and it is selected, you should see the sound file selected
in the custom animation task pane. Double click it in the taskpane (John
referred to the sound file you inserted as "media") which brings up a dialog
window. The effect tab will have the setting stop playing after x slides
John pointed out.

I hope this helps,

Patrick Schmid

Sorry if my explaination confused you its sometimes hard to know how much
people know. When you insert a sound file it usually shows up in custom
animation named "media + a number" eg "media 1"

Glad youre sorted.!
