How to make permanent column set in Open window

I'd like Word 2002 have always the same (reduced) set of columns in the Open
window, let say "Name" and "Date Modified". I desactivate the unnecessary
ones, but Word always imposes "Size" and "Type" columns. How can I force Word
to remember my preferences in that matter?

You have to write your own custom dialog - a non-trivial task.
