how to make WordXP detects an documents

how to make WordXP detects an password-protected documents? I saved the files
on CD, and now, Word can't detect that it's protected. My documents are
unreadable. Help!

You can't open Word documents directly from a CD AFAIK - copy them (it) back
to your HDD and open from there.....
