How to open a pst file that exceeded maximum size?

I'm using Office 2000 and I can't open Outlook. I think it's because the pst
file grew above 2 GB and thus has exceeded maximum size. Is there any way to
open it, maybe by using newer version of Outlook or some utility? I'm sure
I'm not the first one who has this problem.

you will lose some data.
OL2003, pst in 2003 format, doesnt have this limit. Though must confess I
find it difficult to see a single pst of this size being overlly usefull.
