How to open a pub file without having Publisher

C

Christy

I am building a website for a friend and he sent me a file with the extension
..pub which I'm figuring is a Publisher file. The file is a brochure for a
camp event to be held in April 2008. My problem is that I do not have
Publisher on my computer. I have looked in MS Office Suite which I have, and
there is Word, Excel, PP, etc. but no Publisher. Is there a MS application
that will open this file, as all I need is the information about the camp?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Only Publisher will open a Publisher file.
And...there is no Publisher viewer.

If you wanted to download and install the
Publisher 2007 trial version you could view
the file. After the trial expires it should still
allow you to view .pub files.

Microsoft Office Publisher 2007

Maybe the sender could convert it to a .pdf
for you and resend it...or if you upload it
somewhere and post a link...I'm sure someone
from this group would be glad to convert it
for you.

Here's a useful site for sharing files:

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into the newsgroup message.

Thank you very much, John. I did as you suggested with yousendit.com
and here is the link that the second screen gave me:

I hope someone will be able to convert it for me. Thanks again.

Here's a link to a .pdf version of your file but
some of the color on the Master Page was
omitted....maybe someone else can do a
better job.

So...here are links to page 1 and page 2 in .jpg format.
Now you can see the color.

John,
I thank you so very much for all your help. The links for the downloads
worked perfectly, I can open the files and get the information I need!
Thanks for taking the time to tell me about yousendit.com, and for converting
the pub files for me. That was more than I expected when I came to the
discussion group for help!

Blessings for peace and prosperity to you this coming year.

The work-around is probably to take the bg gradients off the Master Page and
put them on the normal page - for the print version anyway...converting that
brochure to web is gonna be a whole other ball o'wax.
