How to open an excel workbook stored in web archive format

Hello, I share excel documents with my smart phone which uses the
symbian OS. I can exchange all office doc types (word, ppt) except
excel. when I bring an excel doc from my pda to my mac office 2004
excel can't open it. I believe the fine is in a format known as mhtml
or web archive format. on the windows side there is a plug in available
but I cant find any way to open on the mac. Please help. Here is a
snippet of what I see when I open the document in txt editor:

Whoever created the web site
http://www.quickoffice.com/support/UIQ/exceladdin.html may not be
clueless about some things, but how to make a link to a file is beyond
their comprehension apparantly.

Would you trust an add-in from someone who can't make a simple hyperlink?

There's an outside chance that Word 2004 might be able to deal with the
web archive. Try setting Word's preferences to prompt you when opening
files and then select web archive as the file type. You have to manually
reset Word's preferences when you're through.
